Interesting In Joining Our Organization?
We are thrilled that you would consider the life-changing opportunity a membership with the Thousand Island Emergency Rescue Service Inc. offers. The process is simple, and we value the opportunity to answer any questions you may have. When you’re ready to do so, fill out the application at the top of the page, and a representative will be in touch soon! If you still have a few questions, that’s okay as well. Here we will attempt to answer some of them.
We are always taking applications for volunteers, whether you are an EMT looking for a change or someone new to the wonderful world of EMS. We are always looking for new volunteers EMT’s, Paramedic, and non-medical drivers. We staff our ambulance 24/7 at the Paramedic level. We also do many community events throughout the year and we will need help staffing additional ambulances.
Some of the non-medical jobs you could help us with:
Help with firefighter rehabilitation at fire scenes — providing water, snacks, and support
Help with development and fundraising activities — if you know the river communities and support TIERS’ mission. Even better if you have grant funding and grant-writing experience
Help cover many community events — what a great way to meet new friends and help us make a great impression!
We also need people we can contact to provide trailers or trucks to transport our Rescue Trailer and UTV to neighboring departments’ areas if needed
Junior Membership
TIERS’ Junior Membership Program has ushered several area teens into emergency medical services as volunteers and active employees. We’re looking for students who are interested in learning about EMS and about teamwork, and who want the chance to provide crucial services during emergencies.
TIERS Junior Members learn patient assessment and treatment skills, assist with visits to senior citizens' housing, and after clearance ride along with TIERS crews on emergency calls.
If you are between the ages of 14 and 18 and would be interested in joining us, contact TIERS at 315-686-2058 or email us at efarrell@tirescue.org for more information.
